It’s probably been years since you considered picking up your plastic guitar and tapping out your favourite tunes in front of the TV. But Guitar Hero will always hold a special place in the hearts of a gamers, inspiring a new generation of music fans and guitar players.
Guitar Hero Live is the latest addition in the franchise that also brings in some big changes. First of all, there are two styles of play: GH Live lets you rock real crowds with real reactions. And the second mode, GHTV, is the world’s first playable music video network with a library of hundreds of music videos you can play.
Activision have also reconfigured the control/guitar, replacing the single row of 5 buttons with 2 rows of 3 buttons, to better simulate frets and feel more like natural guitar playing.
Already the game is trying to take a new approach to modern music, with rock, folk, EDM, hip-hop, country and pop acts sharing the same stage. The game will feature hundreds of playable songs from a diverse array of artists, including The Black Keys, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Gary Clark, Jr., Green Day, Ed Sheeran, The War on Drugs, The Killers, Skrillex, The Rolling Stones, The Lumineers, Carrie Underwood, Pierce the Veil and Blitz Kids, with many more bands to be announced in the coming months.
