With the iconic Defender set to be shelved for good later this year due to safety regulations, Land Rover has teamed up with a selection of ‘special guests’ to build a special edition model – the Defender 90 Number 2,000,000.
It will be auctioned off at Bonhams in December, with all the proceeds to be donated to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Born Free Foundation. Punters will get their first look at the special make when it is publicly unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that starts today.
The two-millionth Defender features a unique satin silver exterior complete with an etching of Red Wharf Bay (where the original design was conceived back in 1947) on its fender. The interior is all black leather complete with a map of Red Wharf Bay and the number two million. Long live the Defender.
