The Fastest Bike in the World?

Big claims are being made by leading bike manufacturer, Specialized, with their new S-Works Venge ViAS being marketed as the fastest road bike in the world. They say it shaves 2 minutes off your 40km sprint, and a massive 5 minutes off when combined with the skinsuit, helmet and shoes that were also released with the bike. Needless to say, it has the cycling world talking.

The Venge launched four years ago to eager cyclists all over the world. In the latest version, Specialized has ensured it’s more than just a mere refresh. In fact, it’s a complete overhaul.  The new Venge has been designed almost completely in a wind tunnel – a first in itself – and every little detail has been enhanced to ensure this is the fastest bike ever produced.

It features internal cable routing, frame and fork integrated brakes, and a 15mm curved rise handlebar to offest a negative-rise stem. The bike with a full Dura Ace Di2 groupset, Specialized’s Roval CLX 64 wheelset and cotton-casing S-Works Turbo tires, would retail for approximately $16,000 AUD.
