There is no footwear more iconic than the Converse “Chuck Taylor” All-Stars. With more than a billion pairs sold, they are worn by everyone from grunge rockers to movie stars to the President of the USA. And now, for the first time in 98 years, they will be undergoing a grand redesign.
Always stylish but not always comfortable, Converse have made the Chuck II, which features Lunarlon; a lightweight, bouncy foam used in Nike’s running and basketball shoes for increased support and comfort.
While the look isn’t changing, the updated shoes will now also feature a perforated super-soft micro suede lining, foam padded collars and gusseted tongues. In other words, a sturdier shoe that will breathe more and smell less. The brand patch will also now be woven into the shoe, so don’t expect your logo to rub off quite so easily.
You can pick up your pair of Chuck II’s as of the 28th of July and they will be available in the traditional hi-top and low-top versions.
